Council and ACHA working together

Postby Kintyre Forum News » Tue Jan 29, 2013 11:59 pm

ARGYLL and Bute Council and Argyll Community Housing Association continue to strengthen their partnership with the announcement that the local authority has secured a contract to support ACHA’s lighting requirements on housing developments throughout Argyll and Bute.

The twelve-week contract, which is worth £100,000, is in addition to the IT and related assets services which Argyll and Bute Council already supplies to ACHA.

It was awarded to the council following a competitive tender process and involves the repair and improvement of unadopted street lights close to ACHA homes across Argyll and Bute.

Argyll and Bute Council Leader Roddy McCuish said: “One of our long-term ambitions is to forge strong links between the council and ACHA, and the news about the lighting contract is a major step in the right direction. It is great news for both organisations and I would like to congratulate all who have worked hard to ensure that this happens. “

Chief executive of Argyll Community Housing Association Alastair MacGregor added: “Partnership working is extremely important especially in these difficult and challenging times. Both ACHA and Argyll and Bute Council and, most importantly, the people of Argyll and Bute, will all benefit from this type of approach.”
