I thank WC for his opinions as to the merits of WHISKY FROM SMALL GLASSES.
The Kindle version is taken directly from the first impression of the book, which I admit contains certain errors, some of which are down to me, though many due to poor proofing and less than perfect editing, as WC suggests. I can only apologise; I was not happy with the first edit, though it doesn't appear to have spoiled the enjoyment of the majority of those who have read it, which includes some of UK's leading literary critics.
I welcome any constructive criticism. I read WC's alternative suggestions as to narrative; he may not like mine - I don't like his, especially his over simplistic 'summer breeze' effort. Ultimately, when one's head is above the parapet it is there to be shot at, and every opinion is his or her own, to which they are entitled. Perhaps I was unfortunate to miss the 'renaissance' of The Grammar School under his tutelage; then again, perhaps not - it's a matter of opinion.
The book has just been nominated for the Golden Dagger Award, the most prestigious prize in global crime fiction, which is, in itself a fine accolade. Also, look out for a review in The Times in the next few weeks.
I will look forward to reading WC's book, if he eventually gets time to write one. I am sure it will be every bit as interesting as he is himself.
