Whats your thoughts? All seems pretty positive with a few negatives in it.

How are the powers at be planning on implementing recommendations? at the ned of the day it is going to cost money & where is that to come from?

PM,

So what does it say? Don't quote it all mind you. :wink:

Am I correct in thinking there is a particular group taking this whole project forward? KIWG or something?

Can the public see the paper?

Thanks for the posting.

Cheers

I believe this is a public document, i wouldnt have got one otherwise.

Very briefly as it is a very in depth report;

This was a report commisioned by by ABC on behalf of a client group the incude AIE & Communities Scotland.

The brief for the group compiling the report, Willie Miller Urban Design (no not the ex-Aberdeen defender!) & Ryden, was to look at the socio-economic issue of Campbeltown & Kintyre, deliver a detailed appraisal of Campbeltown, focus ing on economy, housing, urban design, traffic, image & the environment. then deliver a development plan of the re-generationfor the town & the wider area.

The report full of nice pictures of the town & its buildings & is quite positive on the whole in my opinion.

As always there are areas for improvements, some interesting ideas!

Interesting part on the gas works & how it affects planning & development too.

Obviously it mentions the on going issues, proposed golf course, community project, new quay development.

As to who takes it forward, unsure of that but the book does recommend a steering group with various bodies on it, ABC,AIE,ACAH,CS,etc

Very quick brief on it, dont know how you can get a copy though. It is worth a read if you are interested in the future of the wee toon.

If anyone wants a copy of this they can contact Chairman of the KIWG, Councillor Donald Kelly. Everyone that attends the KIWG got a copy.

To answer as to who is taking this forward, after making enquires today, i believe it is going to try & be the KIWG.
